Boise, Idaho
– Americans spend more than 90 percent of their time indoors, which
means daily exposure to levels of indoor air pollution can be more
than 100 times higher than outdoor levels (American Lung
Association). Biological contaminants such as mold, dust mites,
viruses, pet dander, formaldehyde found in pressed, treated wood,
and particulate found in dust, pollen, cleaning sprays and poorly
ventilated areas can all be culprits to poor indoor air quality.
There are steps homeowners can take to improve indoor air and
provide a healthy and safe home.
Healthy Home Checklist:
o
Do you smoke
in your home?
o
Does your kitchen and bathroom have adequate ventilation and exhaust
fans?
